I originally opened this shop over ten years ago. It was a much different shop than it is today. Originally called Southern Girl Florals, I sold silk flower wreaths, bouquets and accessories. It served as a creative outlet for me.

I did not discover textile art until just recently. I was intrigued with the craftsmanship and skill involved, not to mention the fact that there is much less waste involved. I practiced and researched everything I could. Like a sponge I was absorbing all of the information possible - the history, different knots, weaves, techniques, etc. After creating gifts for family and friends, I finally gained the courage to dust off this old forgotten shop and put my art out there.

The name Linden Acres ties into my own name, Lindsay, which means "island of linden trees". It is said that the linden trees were a gathering place for celebrations.
The bees depend on them for nectar and pollen, and adorably their branches are adorned with heart-shaped leaves.

It was then that Linden Acres Design Co. was born. It is a place where I want everyone to feel welcome and find joy. It is my hope that someone will discover one of my pieces that they connect with just as much as I did when I came up with the design.
